The starting condition

The account had been active on Amazon for several years. Over time, the advertising structure had accumulated too many campaigns and targets. Multiple campaigns contained irrelevant keywords, making the account harder to manage and allowing budget to be spent on searches that did not match the product closely enough.

Some listing wording created unnecessary compliance risk for a pesticide category, while the main images did not communicate the product value as clearly as they could.

The objective

Restore sales momentum while improving advertising efficiency, relevance, listing clarity, and compliance readiness.

What changed

Campaign cleanup

We audited the structure, identified irrelevant keyword activity, and removed or restricted targets that were not aligned with the product. Campaigns were reorganized around more relevant search terms and clearer targeting logic.

Advertising relevance

Spend was concentrated on terms and targets more closely connected to the product and customer intent, reducing avoidable inefficiency from irrelevant traffic.

Listing and compliance

We removed risky or potentially non-compliant wording and strengthened the product communication with clearer, more appropriate copy.

Main images and creative

We improved the main images and supporting creative so customers could understand and evaluate the product with less friction.

The result

Within three months, the account moved from a 34% year-over-year sales decline to 12% growth—a 46-percentage-point improvement. Overall sales improved while ACOS decreased.

Why the approach worked

The account did not need more uncontrolled campaign activity. It needed a clearer signal between the product, customer search intent, advertising, listing content, and creative.

This case does not claim that campaign cleanup alone caused the result or that the outcome can be repeated for every product. Competition, pricing, seasonality, demand, inventory, reviews, and marketplace conditions also affect performance.
